What you think about the whole competition in athens? did it please you?

Kiriakos/Carpe Diem: yes of course, we didnt expect so many visitors.3.000 around. The weather was great and the tendency was very good. It was for last years the largest graffiti festival in Greece. We had thereby very much work, however that were worth it to us. We think that was a great event (over 3000 people come to the event and persons that were close to the graffiti scene). The event saws again to public what is the power of graffiti and hiphop generally: friendship, cool time in the roads, talking drinking and have fun with sprays, music, dance and taking infos about the MCs thoughts and believes

Rusk/Maclaim: it was very nice, we had it very difficulty here with the decision of the best crew. here participated so many good pictures, unbelievably which has to offer greek graffiti!

So we can count next year again on a write4gold in athens?

Kiriakos/Carpe Diem: yes, i think so, for sure. If we get the same or more support from our partners than for sure. Next year we are organize it again in Athens in an other special place for which we have already a proposal. The organisation was o.k. but for the next battle- fest we will organize more thinks and we ll give it an other image. As we send we want to built it step by step year by year. More surprises will come and new writers come!!

what about the carpe diem magazine, for the future new projects? and which content we expect us for the next issue and which date it will published?

Kiriakos/Carpe Diem: Our new issue is out in two weeks. We gonna have of course a special presentation of the w4g in Athens and the best…this issue was planed to put a dedication for salonica graffiti scene fyll photos from salonica and a interview from LIV2/SGB Crew. So we believe that is one of our best ever issue done. Thanks to IMPE!

what is the background of the choice for the jury?

Kiriakos/Carpe Diem: we have get offered some judges by the write4gold team, however the choice was on Maclaim. Background is on the one hand the high kind of fame of the crew here in greece and on the other hand the planning of an exhibition in co-operation with some carpe diem artists like impe or woozy in the "Goethe Institut Athens". The opening will be at 10th May 2005 in the Goethe Institut athens. The exhibition calls itself "neverending story" and in addition the artists starting from Monday 3 days along create canvases especially for the exhibition.

Maclaim paint also at the write4gold event about 2 days on a large piece, tell us more about the idea and the concept behind it. And we recognize a 5th person who was painting at the wall?

Rusk/Maclaim: Thats correct.  Hera, a female writer from wiesbaden in germany developed and devised the concept for the wall in cooperation with us.

Case/Maclaim: The background was which we wanted to paint somewhat typical for Greece. Something with gods and myths.

Tasso/Maclaim: There it lay near to represent at example the horseguy.

Akut/Maclaim: the interesting on it is the combination of our kind to paint with of hera´s. She prefers sureal character, we photorealistic technics. We think the mix is presentable and some new stuff of us in addition.

So we get accustomed to expect in the future more such kind of productions?

Case/Maclaim: yes, i think so.

Rusk/Maclaim: but, our recognizing value is really important to us. So we will paint next time for sure also our typical maclaim style which we well known for.

tells us more about  the decision of the first place of the competitio. What happen there in the evening of the greek write4gold?

Rusk/Maclaim: there is a total evaluation, because of the 4 categories which we as jury have to decided. Thus all scores out concept painting, action throwups, copic sketching and tagging summed up, computed with the weighting of the categories and so we have a total result. In greece it gave two crews with the same score.

Tasso/Maclaim: It was the SGB Crew and the SFN Crew.

Akut/Maclaim: That is very rare in the history of Write4Gold i think. Once was it also like that, and there we were thereby but not as jury, as guests to paint, it was in warsaw last year.

Rusk/Maclaim: René of W4G communicated us that we have this situation now.  And ask what we do now?In Warsaw it gave at that time a special further battle crew vs crew.  There  had to arrange the crew within a short time (5min) a word in each case only with one color.

Case/Maclaim: it was very cool and fair.

Rusk/Maclaim: But it was very late. and we had to act. Thus we decided to ask the two crews themselves how we manage it. They told us that they dont have any time left because they have to catch the train to thesaloniki (560 km athens/thesaloniki). So we could only suggest to that to decide like this: the crew wins which wins also the most important category, the concept painting. It was as we know now, the SFN Crew.

Tasso/Maclaim: and those were so lucky about it, unbelievable..but it was good to see, which somewhat is worth to a crew to win a write4gold title and to stay at the final.

And you mean  Greece has a chance at the final?

Rusk/Maclaim: Of course, europe should dress warmly,greece rock definitely the cool shit, we can expect a lot of them at the final i think!

Kiriakos/Carpe Diem: SFN was the winner. So we believe that they will be the winner!!!! Bring the cup in Greece guys!!! ÊÕÐÅËÏ ÊÕÐÅËÏ!!!!

What you think about the S-Kids Production and the templates piece of Errorism Crew? How you decide such kind of pieces?

Tasso/Maclaim: In principle, very very well!  But, also on an MC Freestyle Battle nobody can rehearsed texts speak. you know what i mean?

Rusk/Maclaim: write4gold want to test also the flexibility of the crews. And the criteria of valuation dont work with such kind of situation. It means, it doesnt have to do anything with the interpretation of a topic, like also the SKIDS thought, it is a matter of the letters, Write4Gold is a style battle, and we judge like this.

Akut/Maclaim: But i give a lot of respect to the guys from errorism, its a great piece!

Kiriakos/Carpe Diem: but last but not least, we all had a very well organized event with satisfied crews and very nice productions. its doesnt matter , the most important thing is that greece is representing by a really good crew with a lot of skills. Completely justified!

A last question to the carpe diem guys,its as large differentiated between athens graffiti scene and thesaloniki? is there a competition?

Woozy/Carfpe Diem: no, i cant say this, thesaloniki have more style, but athens more bombing stuff. LIFO, a new young crew from athens bomb a lot actually and are typical for the developement of the graffiti scene here in athens.I like them very much. In Thesaloniki there are a kind of more style developement, looks like the SGB Crew or also SFN Crew, Winner of the Write4Gold. But, i would to say, also the OFK Crew from athens have a very nice style

Rusk/Maclaim: but very strong french influence or? I mean OFK Crew.

Woozy/Carpe Diem: maybe there are a french influence, but im not sure.

Rusk/Maclaim: but its in every case okay to be affected, and the wall of OFK Crew was a burner, it was so difficult to decide.
