italian graffiti writers paint on the prison in rome! On 22.02.2008 you have the chance to check it out
ROME The association “Ora D’Aria”, the association “Artwo” and the Direction of the “Casa Circondariale Nuovo Complesso” (the Rebibbia’s jail of Rome) present: MURALEX, the first project in Italy where graffiti gets in jail. ten roman writers have met the prisoners for three months and have painted all together the big wall that delimits to be reclused and to be free.
At the event, on Friday 22nd february will be present the town councillor at Cultural Politics Silvio di Francia and the undersecretary at Justice Minister, Mr. Manconi.
The wall represents to be inside or outside the prison, this is the fundamental concept of the work. The wall painted will be seen by the prisoners, their families, the police and all people who live the jail.
The writers teached prisoners the approach of graffiti and that’s how the prisoners have painted their concepts later.
