maybe every 2nd or 3rd of you guys from europe well know the Hall of Fame Itzehoe close to Hamburg City located in North Germany. Now its time to revolt because this graff historical place is in serious problems, the city of Itzehoe announced this week the abridgement of the Alsen whole area.
ITZEHOE Now we have known it for two weeks; the last ruins of ALSEN will be knocked down. Among other topics telling about graffit and photo art of Itzehoe Yo, I would like to look back on a monument of the Industrial Age. Other cities like in the Ruhgebiet use their monuments of the Industrial Age for tourism. Here they want to destroy them for a new amusement zone providing fashion stores and others. At the same time arts and artists are pushed out of their hood. Again a very important and rich part of Itzehoe’s history is taken away.
After knocking down ALSENs, in future land will be alloted. Yet, there are some large stores which already signalize the mainstream, fancy area that will be invested in. Yes, democratically we voted against ALSEN. We voted against an eyesore but of course, not against any persons.
In general we could say:
Usually women are said to be very vain.
In Itzehoe,it’s the other way around. For 40 years it has been the town of vain men. During those years, many man have made their mark (maybe they even pushed orders from one to another). Nobody cares about the aerial view of our town. It looks like those other cities looked like, in 1945. Well, there is still enough green landscape which distracts from the bad side. Thanks to everyone who voted for it and can accept it with a clear conscience.
By the way, it has been lasting 90.000 years until Itzehoe became the most beautiful, richest and most unique maritime town of Schleswig-Holstein Not even 40 years it has taken to destroy it again.
