Some letter from the french winners of the european final 2005!
Our team was composed by Persu & Skey from OCT crew, Yoda from DC crew and Vida from TNV & DNUP. Mask (OBKOS DC) was here for the french Write4Gold, but he couldn't come to Chemnitz. In Paris we always paint with people from different crews, so we decided to come with this "dream team" Of course we are good friends before to be a W4G team. Vida discovered graffiti in 1987, Yoda 1990, Mask 1998 and Persu & Skey 1991. We all practiced all the aspects of graffiti and that's how ve envolve, as complete writers. " We were very tired when we arrived at Chemnitz at 9 o'clock in the morning, after having droved all night and not slept. So we were like 4 zombies starting to paint, when the battle started at 10. But when we saw the big size of the Splash festival and the amazing number of people (and the beautiful team of reception's hostesses, with beautiful green clothes, large bellies and big moustaches), it gave us power to stay alive ! We were happy to see people we knew before, like the guys from Spain and from Luxembourg, and some guys from Germany. That's what we like in graffiti festivals; it's a good occasion to see people we can't see often, to meet new heads and see new styles. It's fun to see how each country has got its own style. Germany and Greece have dope letters and personal styles, and Poland and other countries from east Europe are more creative and experimental. In France (and especially in Paris), we often stay more classic, in the old school Bando's vibe. " It was hard to find something original to paint, in relation to the topic ("Write 4 Gold"), so as we firstly had no ideas, we just decided to paint Jesus Christ with a Subway Art and a can in the hands. (In real, we had a really complex and philosophic concept for our wall, yes, but it's very long and boring to explain. And moreover I don't remember what it was.) Then the throw-ups, sketches and tags were done in a cool vibe, and when the results were given, it just became totally mad ! At this moment, we just remembered that Germany was the paradise of the beer ! (Well, Skey had never forgot it, even before, for sure). " We were very happy to win these 1400 cans, because we don't have Molotow Premium in Paris and we appreciate a lot this can. And we are very poor, so it's cool to have so many sprays for free. (Well, in real, we are so rich, but all our money goes to big cars, drugs, swimming-pools and bling-blings...) Skey was happy to win this giant playmobil and Vida's little boy was happy to have this big inflatable molotow can. He will be a boss on the beach. Anyway, we think that the 2nd and 3rd crews didn't win enough presents. Maybe it could be nice to have a jury with more varied tasted in graffiti, to have more different styles in the competition. An other point is that we missed a lot of dope concerts, because they all were the sunday when we painted... " Well, after few drinks, a lot of adventures more or less stupid happened to us. (I don't want to compromise anybody, so I keep it to myself, but guys, just know that french are the best "ignorant breakdancers with a totally shitty style"! Some hot documents are findable here and there, for people who like to dig.) At least we can say that we appreciated this weekend in Woodstock, sorry, Splash Festival like we rarely did in our lifes, and for sure we promise that we for sure will be worst next year! " Peace to all the people we have enjoyed with, and God bless you all !
